Hi, I am looking for any information regarding Christopher Johns, married to Mary(polly) Boswell. He owned barges and ran a pub in this area, about mid 1800s.
Much appreciated!

Hi Hickelmeyer,

What sort of information are you after?

I can see the family in 1881 at Simpson Buckinghamshire, Christopher is a Boatman and publican of the Navigation Inn.

10 years earlier, they're at London Bow, on board the Susan, with children Elizabeth age 5 born Southill(?) Middlesex and Rose age 2 b. Dudley. Shout if you want the details. RG10/579 104 44

Marriage Jun 1865 Daventry 3b 156
Christopher Johns - Mary Boswell

Hi. tati, yes, I want ANY the details RG10/579 104 44. ??How do I obtain this? Sorry I'm new!.

Christopher Johns, I was told, originally owned 30 Barges, 2 steam tugs, and a coffee stall on the main railway line stations, and at one time, had a pub called "The Compasses" at Fenny Stratford on the Grand Union Canal.
Arthur Johns went out on his own, in early 1900s bought his own barges, and lived with Lydia Jenkins.
jane, I would be interested in any mags or photos.
Bye for now, and many thanks.
