Online Copies of Wills

Hi,

According to the Essex record office website they have some family wills (Commissary of Bishop of London). Does anyone know if these are available online to view anywhere?

There are certainly some Wills on the SEAX site

so I guess that is what is referred to

Yes that is the website where I found that they have the wills but what I am wondering is if there is anywhere where they can be read online?

If they can be read online then that will be where - click on 'images'

I would imagine that if you have located their existance on that site, but not got access to see the documant, then it is not available online.

There are no images of these wills on the Essex Record Office site. I was hoping that they might be available elsewhere, but guess I will have to plan a trip to the record office to see them.

I was actually after some specific wills that I have found mentioned on Seax, they range in date from 1765 to 1855.

My understanding that the Wills images that are on SEAX are those which people have actually paid to have scanned and then the RO have put them in the online catalogue.  If the ones you want aren't there, then nobody has requested scanned images of them ... which isn't surprising since from the costs I've seen they're charging £5 for the first page and £2 for each thereafter plus £3 for a cd-rom!
