1881 Census Enumeration District Question
« on: Thursday 13 May 10 18:10 BST (UK) »
Hi All

I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction re Enumeration District please.

I am looking for 19 Pearson Street in Manchester. The Enumeration District is St George, but there are 44 Districts within St George and I was wondering if anybody could tell me which District I may find Pearson Street.

Thanking you in anticipation

Cheers
Erika :)

Hi

Thanks for reply.

I don't actually have a name, but I have a birth cert for 1884 with this address on.  However I know this family were not at this address in 1881 as they were living in Scotland. I am just interested in why this person was born in Manchester as the family were back in Scotland in 1891! Were there other relatives at this address :-\
Can't help with census ref either. Just thought there maybe any easy way to find the street ;)

Cheers

That's an interesting map Gortonboy as I can see an Ironworks close by. The father of the child born was an Iron Turner. Another mystery tho', why did he go to Manchester for probably such a short time.

I would still be interested to find who was at that address tho' in1881, maybe the house belonged to the Ironworks.

Many thanks
Erika :)
