Hi,

I am doing a one name study of the Rossiter family tree and am looking for information please about the parents, grandparent and siblings of Hilda Blanche Rossiter born circa 1897 in Pontypridd.

Any information would be greatly appreciated please.TIA.

Wow tough one, cannot find her at all in 1901 or 1911.

According to her Death registration, she was born 3rd November 1897.

Her Death REg. December Qtr. 1976 Mendip Vol.23 page 1182   HILDA BLANCHE PRIDDLE
Buried Blessed Virgin Mary, Batcombe 19th November 1976.


Her Marriage REg.  March Qtr. 1930 Shepton Mallet Vol.5c page 719  to FREDERICK PRIDDLE

His Death REg. March Qtr. 1982 Mendip Vol.23 page 1256  born 30th January 1898   (Poss. Bromley March Qtr. 1898 Vol.2a page 450).
Buried Blessed Virgin Mary, Batcombe  1st April 1982.

Several possible children from this marriage.

Checked some Pontypridd baptisms, lots of Rossiters but no Hilda.

I have Hilda & her husband plus two children in my database but unfortunately I do not know Hilda's parents.

I did find a Hilda Blanch Rossiter born in the December Qtr of 1897 recorded at Pontypridd on FreeBMD and was hoping to find her with her parents in the censuses.

from FreeBMD it looks like the names of the children were:
Edgar = Edgar george L
madge = Bertha Lilian M
Blanche = Hilda Blanche
Rosa = Rosa Louisa

if you look on 1911 index -free to search
it looks like the family are in Somerset and are listed as :
Edgar george
Madge bertha
Blanche
Rosa Louise

Many thanks for that.

I have that family in my database. George married Maria Ann Targett in Clutton in 1892.

Like you I could not find a Blanch born in that year but did find Hilda Blanch Rossiter at Pontypridd in the December Qtr of 1897 so it looks like you could well be right.

I think we can probably wrap this one up now.
