Jarvis baptism
« on: Monday 24 May 10 02:45 BST (UK) »
Hello Once Again.

Would there be baptism records for Elizabeth Jarvis born 1859 Kilby along with her twin John?  And a death record for John, as we think he may of died young.  (they may have records for Leire parish).  Parents were Amo's and Elizabeth Jarvis.
Plus one more brother Thomas born 1861, would love to see if his birth date ties in with the passing of his mother Elizabeth on 27 Nov 1861.
I am o.k for census etc, just need baptism or births please.

Kind Regards

If you have census you should know that Thomas appears on 1861 census age 4mths -and his mother is alive and living with him

Have you checked freeBMD to get birth registrations???

Are you certain Thomas' mother was Elizabeth -and not Eliza -and are you certain you have the correct death reg for her???

There is a marriage reg Freebmd

Dec qtr 1858
Blaby
on same  page
Eliza Tew
Amos Jarvis
7a 129

then 1861 census
Amos Jarvis head M 26 Journeyman Baker Kilby Leics
Eliza wife 24 Leire
John son 2 Arnsby Leics
Elizabeth daughter 2 Arnsby
Thomas son 4mths Arnsby
living in Lutterworth reg district

Death reg FreeBMD
Eliza Jarvis
Dec qtr 1862
Lutterworth
7a 4

marriage reg freeBmd
Dec qtr 1864
Lutterworth
on same page
Amos Jarvis
Elizabeth bartlett
7a 19

1871 census
Main St Arnesby leics
Amos Jarvis head M 35 Kilby Leics
Elizabeth wife 32 Peatling Leics
Elizabeth daughter 12 Kilby Leics
Thomas son 10 Arnesby
William son 4 Arnesby
John son 6 mths Arnesby
RG10 3220 95

looks like Amos was a widower by 1881 census -but he possibly went on to marry again

Do I have the correct family???

Yes have most of that information thanks.  Eliza/Elizabeth Tew was his first wife then he remarried another Elizabeth who also died, and this couple had a son also named John.
I was wanting to know if the first 3 children were baptized at all?  This will help tidy up those missing dates.

you have the death of Eliza as 1861 - there is one in 1862?

I can't find Eliza down as Elizabeth

and you wondered if Thomas birth date coincided with Eliza's -yet Thomas is clearly on the census with his mother????

You need to be as definate as you can with dates - to make sure it is the correct person

have you looked on FreeBMD at all to find the birth registrations of the children -I have already posted the twins reg

This kind of information is helpful for anyone looking up

Place of birth or birth registration district helps too
Hope this helps

You are correct, Eliza is clearly written on her headstone died age 24 on 27 Nov 1861 not 1862 (photo in my hand).  But christening has her as "Elizabeth" on the 5 May 1839.  So I presume she went by the shorten name of Eliza.

Yes all children are clearly stated on the 1861 census, Elizabeth and Thomas do appear on later census results with their father Amos.

So John did die at a young age, I was not looking for a seven year old, more like a 2 year old, thanks for finding him.
