Goulburn NSW - FRANCIS/SAVAGE

In 1850 Charles Francis (1827-1910) married Ann Savage (1926-1906) in Surfleet,Lincolnshire.
In 1853 they emigrated with daughter Elizabeth Ann, on the "Rattler" to Goulburn.

As a matter of interest is any decendents of that family still living there.
Ann was my g.g.g.Aunt.

I have had some connections from various descendents over the years, but have all seemed to have petered out around 1980.

Hi Beckey - the phone directory will also give you addresses as well as phone numbers so you could write if you would like.

Did you want any further info - I see a marriage for Elizabeth Ann to George William GOODCHILD, Goulburn 1874,#2416.  Lots of children etc.

The NSW death index goes up to 1979 but the latest date for a death with surname GOODCHILD in Goulburn is 1969.  obviously this doesn't include any descendants through female lines, or the FRANCIS line.

The Ryerson index has some death notices with surname FRANCIS with Goulburn as the location - some later GOODCHILD death mentions also.  You may find some names here which you recognise.  You can ask for a look-up from Ryerson site.  If you only have a few look-up let me know which ones.  I should be at the libary where there are back-copies of papers on Friday.

Thank you, that web site was interesting picked up a few deaths that I hadn't got.

Elizabeth Ann married George Goodchild ca 1874.
Hannah married George South ca.1878.
Eliza married David Wright ca.1879.
Walter married Catherine Jeffrey ca.1885.
 Henry married Mary Ryan ca.1894.
Dinah Amy married Edwin Ferguson ca.1896.
William b.ca.1859 nothing.
Helen b. ca.1866 nothing.

They were all married Goulburn but ended all over NSW.
Have the Goodchild and Ferguson families up to about the 1980's.

In 1885 Charles FRANCIS of Cannon Vale in the PD of Gouburn and post town of Bungonia Road held   120 acres with ten horses , 30 cattle and one lonely pig!.
