George Perfect b 1841 newark
« on: Tuesday 25 May 10 20:11 BST (UK) »
I'm researching George Perfect b. 1841 in Newark, he married an Eliza Jane Stephenson b 1847 in Hogsthorpe Lincs.  George married again to Ann Elizabeth Stephenson, Eliza's sister we think.

Can't find any trace of a marriage, they were living in Newark Nottinghamshire on 1901 census so any help with this date would be great.

Also his occupation is down on the 1901 census as Auctioner, surveyor and Builder, I would be interested in any information on this as he is down as an employer so must have registered a company???

Thanks.

1881 census has "Annie" as b Hogsthorpe -not kegsthorpe -although image is difficult to decipher

Maybe Ann Elizabeth went away to marry as it was not legal to marry your 1st wife's sister -although many did

This looks like the girls in 1861

Have looked burials and they don't match the family. Newark libray has a small family history collection and it might be worth contacting them
