Albert Harnblow POW in Japan

Hi
I wonder if anyone can help the above guy was in a prison of war camp in Japan. We dont know where to start to look as not sure which camp he was in.
We know quite a few years later he was given compensation for this.
Any help would be great

The National Archives at Kew has a pretty much complete record of all POWs in Japanese hands in WW2. Unfortunately these are not online - so it's either a visit or a request to them.

      the Prisoners of the Japanese Lists in WO392 at Kew do not have an Albert Harnblow as being a P.O.W. They go from Harmston - Harnden .

You could look at the Card Index of P.O.W. in WO345/23 though, or WO344/380/2 where you might find a Liberation Report.

Thanks Brian this guy is a mystery he never spoke of his time there we think there may be a variation of the name as the name Harnblow is rather unusal, we cant even find his family passed him.

Can you give any more details about Albert at all?, date of birth/ where born/ if he had a middle name and if possible which regiment that he served in as this may help in locating information with regards to him.

This looks a possibility Val :-
Pte.Hornblow Albert E. 6142680; Captured 15/2/42 - Liberated 2/9/45. No Camp given just Thailand.
