Hi,
I am aware that HMS Victory was in use as a training ship until about 1922 when she went in to dry dock. I have a photo (attached) which I believe to be Walter George Richardson (B1876) and his wife Alice (nee Cro[a]ker). Possibly their wedding photo, I can see a ring on his finger and her left hand is uppermost but cannot make out a ring. They married in Dec 1897. On the marriage certificate he lists occupation as bricklayer and no mention of the Royal Navy.
So what I am asking rootschatters is:
1) is uniform consistent with 1897
2) badges on uniform denote?
3) would a bricklayer be an occupation on HMS Victory?
4) where should I go to find more information - internet / books / letters / in person?
Thanks
