Hoping for any information about the Horrill Family who at one stage lived in Poundstock.  Any help would be much appreciated. :)

Hi
It will be easier for folk to help if you can give some idea of what info you already have (including dates) - then people wont be in danger of duplication effort finding things you already have.

I know that THirza Horrill born in Poundstock c1868 is recorded in
1884 Census  in Durham.  I think that fer Father was John born in Poundstock c1847 - wife Elizabeth Gay.

Thanks

Here is her birth reg from FreeBMD

Her parents marriage (assuming the maiden name of Gay is correct);

( - where did Eliz. maiden name come from? do you have a birth cert for Thirza already?)

Ap/May/Jun 1866
Stratton 5c 7
John Horrill / one of brides on page Elizabeth Gay

Marriage cert will give names (hopefully) of thier fathers, plus occupations

If you use 'person search' for Horrill in Poundstock

you'll find plenty of records, even John witnessing Elizabeth's sister's marriage.

thank you so much - this is great!  We wondered if there could be a connection with Wales.  So many questions answered ....... and I have a cousin with me from overseas for a few days and we are both sitting with our mouths wide open  :o

We will now have a look at thelink that have been sent - thank you again to one and all.
