Poundstock - HORRILL family

Hoping for any information about the Horrill Family who at one stage lived in Poundstock.  Any help would be much appreciated.

I know that THirza Horrill born in Poundstock c1868 is recorded in
1884 Census  in Durham.  I think that fer Father was John born in Poundstock c1847 - wife Elizabeth Gay.

but this appears to be a different one to what you have with parents John and Elizabeth - did you mean 1881 census? I'll have a squint around

it is a different one - right family now found in 1871 - see later posts

Yes - clearly 2 Thirza Horr*l's around, born about that time in poundstock!

Here is the 1881 you refer to. Looking at the childrens places of birth, this family could well have been in Wales in 1871

Her parents marriage (assuming the maiden name of Gay is correct);

( - where did Eliz. maiden name come from? do you have a birth cert for Thirza already?)

thank you so much - this is great!  We wondered if there could be a connection with Wales.  So many questions answered ....... and I have a cousin with me from overseas for a few days and we are both sitting with our mouths wide open  .
