Did he emigrate?
« on: Sunday 06 June 10 14:20 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I have on the 1881 census a George D Adams aged 8 months, b. Rothwell. His mum's maiden name was Dawkins and there is a birth registration in the right district
for a George Dawkins Adams sept 1880.

I have been unable to find a marriage or death for him in the UK but that may be because not all the later years are transcribed on freebmd yet.

However, I did find on rootsweb a marriage in Toronto in 1907 between a George Dawkins Adams with the right parents to a Emma Sumpter Sale. (Sumpter happens to be George's aunt's married name).

So it looks to me as if George emigrated and married some family connection. Is it possible for someone to find out if George emigrated and when and also if his wife had emigrated or was she already living in Canada?

Thank-you
Brie

Lisa. Not sure if this will help with further clues but it would appear they may have had a son Alex G born 1908. Not sure of the birth locatiopn, it gives both England and Toronto  ???  There was a birth June 1908 for an Alexander James Adams in Northampton (3b 50) -
