Hi folks,
I'm sorry for posting yet again about my Webb mystery but you are my only hope before I finally put this to bed for good!!

I posted some months ago about John Webb in the 66th Regiment.
Right, with the help of a researcher who visited Kew for me I now know that my John Webb joined the army - 66th regiment in 1842 aged 20yrs. It stated on his assertation he was from Bristol, so we are looking at a poss birth for approx 1822ish.
1848 - he served in Barbados
1850 - " " West Indies
1854 - " " Quebec, Canada
1855 - " " Gibraltar
By 1857 he had gone as he took 'free' discharge and gave up his rights to any pension.
My problem is trying to trace his wife and child. I just want to locate the family. His son is John Thomas Webb b.1848ish in Great Bolton, Lancs, I can only find him in 1881 census married living with his in-laws. I did, however, find on TNA a John Thomas Webb b.1857 Gt Bolton in the Navy, so not sure if he is my man. He served on 2 different ships between 1876-1878.
Can anyone help me trace the family of John senior - he should be in the 1861 and possibly 1871 census but where I don't know??
I've tried searching the army births/marriages on FindMyPast but nothing. A researcher has searched for baptisms (at Bolton) for John Thomas Webb b.1848 and 1857 but nothing!!!
HELP???!!!!
Can anyone suggest anything else I can try please? If the experts can't help me who can??
Thanks yet again for any help you offer, I know you are all great on here,

Elaine.
P.S. Sorry I forgot to mention, somebody on this forum found a family at Grt Bolton with a John Webb b.1849 Ireland, his father Thomas was in the army. See RG9 pce 2820 fol 100 page 7. I'm sure there must be a connection with my Webb's but I just can't work out how. Perhaps Thomas Webb was brother to my John Webb senior?? Plus this family lived at Bolton for sometime.
