The White family of Long Buckley
« on: Sunday 13 June 10 23:06 BST (UK) »
Dear All

I am looking for a George White born in 1841 in Northamptonshire. He married a Sarah according to the Census records and his first son Alfred White was born in Long Buckley in Northamptonshire circa 1873. By 1881 the family were in Manchester.

Does anyone know of any links that give marriages and baptisms for for Long Buckley?

Best Regards
Alan

Have you checked freebmd for a marriage.

There is one to a Sarah Bull in Market Harborough 1870

However - Sarah was from Finsbury Middlesex so you can't rule out that they married there

You may need a copy of Alfred's birth cert to establish her maiden name

Births September qtr 1873

Alfred George White    Southam  6d 623

Is it Long Buckby - or Long Buckley?

The 1870 marriage may relate to a different couple.  I have just found them on the 1871 census and that Sarah was b Bedfordshire and George was a stone mason

You definitely need one of the childrens birth certs

Hi All.

Alan I have quite a lot of info on Long Buckby but can find no
link to George or Alfred in them.

Certainly there is no marriage for George in the P.C.

There was also a Independent Chapel and Baptist Church
in the village.

Are you aware whether they were non-conformists at all.

Don't know how useful this will be.
I'm not young enough to know everything.
