Help dentifying building in Sligo. Completed
« on: Sunday 20 June 10 20:34 BST (UK) »
Can anyone please tell me where this building is in Sligo and if it was a house / home or used as an institution etc?
Any information about it at all would be really appreciated.
Thanks, Clarissabell

Apparently:
This is Markievicz House

The photograph you have looks like was taken when it was used as a sanatorium.

The house overlooks salmon point in the river

The house was built by Charles Anderson, brewer. It was later owned by
Pollexfin the grandfather of WB Yeats. It was a Protestant High
School, later a sanatorium, and then the community care headquarters
of the NW Health Board. It is now surrounded by new buildings and
mostly used as a store.

Thanks to those local historians whose knowledge is so invaluable to the rest of us would be historians!
