Gladys Green b Kingston Surrey

Can anyone help with information about the above.
Born Kingston Surrey 1901 Parents, Arthur Green b 1877 Findon Sussex & Ruth (nee Bass) b 1873
Bury St Edmunds.

There is a possibility Gladys  may have married a "Ben" but have no further information.
Also trying to discover where & when her parents died.

would this be her?? She is age 1 on 1901 census

with a not too uncommon name like Green you need to give exact birth dates and any middle names they may have

Also did they stay in Surrey???

John HORSEY married Emily Amelia BASS (2a 416 Kingston Mar 1893 qtr).

Possible Death: -

GREEN Ruth - 5g 202 Surrey Mid Eastern Sep 1953 qtr (age 91)

Can't currently find Arthur GREEN's birth or details in the 1891 Census. Although the 1901 Census indicates he was born in Findon do you have any other information which confirms this?

Free BMD does not show any Gladys GREEN born in Kingston in 1901. Could this be her birth?

From a previous post & replies Gladys was born 1900 & in 1901 living at Deacon Road Kingston Surrey with parents Arthur & Ruth. I do not have any middle name unfortunately.
The details about  Alberts birth are correct 1877 Findon West Sussex & marriage shown by nigelp also. 1891 Arthur age 14 was living at 248 Battersea Park Road London.
I have a photo showing Gladys with a Ben, no date place or further info only guessing they were married.
I see nigelp mentions John Horsey marrying  Emily Bass presumably she was related the Ruth Bass

The details about  Alberts birth are correct 1877 Findon West Sussex & marriage shown by nigelp also. 1891 Arthur age 14 was living at 248 Battersea Park Road London.

The Arthur Green at the address to which you refer in the 1891 Census is indicated as being born in Patcham, East Sussex and not Findon, West Sussex. The reason for enquiring about the birth is that there appear to be some inconsistencies with it not being easy to identify a relevant GRO birth entry in the FreeBMD index. There do not appear to be any Arthur Greens born in Findon or Patcham.

Looking at the 1881 Census there is an Arthur Green at 65 Seaton Street, Chelsea and indicated as being born in Patching, West Sussex. Is this the same Arthur Green? If yes, he may be Arthur Emery Green (birth - 2b 341 East Preston Sep 1876 qtr).

With Arthur Green being a very common name we need clarity about who we are trying to locate.

As she is age 1 in 1901 census her y.o.b.is possibly 1899 rather than 1900

It is important to get correct y.o.b. and middle names if any

I do not know any more about Gladys or the & dob I wish I did.
Her father Arthur was Christened 8 th April 1878 at Patching not to be confused with the similar Patcham.     Patching is in  West Sussex &  is adjacent to Findon both are small villages.
Arthur's father was John Green & mother Maria nee Cooper
In 1881 Arthur age 4 was living with his Uncle, Arthur Herriott in Chelsea London.

Appreciate your help, I can see this as an ongoing query & maybe never resolved.

Does the baptism record of 1878 give a date of birth and a middle name for Arthur?

From the date of marriage of his parents and the place of baptism the entry for Arthur Emery Green would appear to be correct.

If the death information for Ruth is correct and the informant did not know Arthur's year of birth the following might be his death:

GREEN Arthur - 2a 423 Surrey Mid Eastern Dec 1941 qtr (age 60)

However, it is very far from certain as to whether the above is correct.

I have was given this by CarolW/Rootschat.
In 1901 Arthur Green b Findon Sussex with wife Ruth & dau. Gladys age 1, living Kingston Surrey
From RG13 Piece 664 Folio 18 page 28
Was not aware of a middle name for Arthur however it does make sense as his mother Maria's
father was Emery Cooper so they may have carried his name on.
I have marriage Cert for Arthur dated  5 June 1898 age 21 & Ruth age 24. He was shown as a buttersman which was also previously mentioned.
I also know he had a daughter~in~law named Beryl but have no further info apart from a photo of
the two together.
