Rhymney & Tredegar Cemeteries * COMPLETED *
« on: Tuesday 22 June 10 17:56 BST (UK) »
Can anyone advise who holds the burial records for Rhymney and Tredegar cemeteries, I am interested in obtaining a copy of an internment notice for a William Cartwright Barrett who died in 1943 aged 57 plus any others who were planted in the same plot

Tredegar records are held by Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council, their office is in Ebbw Vale. Do not expect much help from them! I've just come back from Wales and had paid them a visit, hoping to get an answer to a query I submitted over a year ago. No help whatsoever. They also want 10quid a pop for any query.
I don't know for certain about Rhymney but you could try Caerphilly Council.

I've also had bad reports about Blaenau Gwent Council etc. I think the safest and quickest option is to get my man's death certificate, it will certainly be slightly cheaper and I will get a result.

I wonder how we would fair if we asked under the freedom of information act.

I believe Blaenau Gwent also cover Rhymney now  ???

Rhymney is covered by Caerphilly Council, they charge £29  :( (but that covers a few searches)

Since my initial post I have discovered many descendants of my target person and have just made contact with a few.

No doubt I will soon get the information I require from them.

Thanks to all
