Dear Joy,

You have listed my ggg grandparents with what I think is their youngest child who was to go on to marry Mary Hornby and have 12 children. Let me know if I can be of any help.

Hi Philip I would be very grateful for any help you can give me, Help on the births, marriages ,deaths, also any census records you may have on the Woof family.
As I live in Nottinghamshire I cannot get up there to go to the archives very well.
Many thanks for any help.

Dear Joy

I have a lot of material in both directions. Most of it appears on the LDS family search site. From William Woof (1797-1875) and Mary Pearson (1800-1867) the Woof line goes back like this;

George Woof (1753-1843) and Isabella Parker (1759-1820) m. Haversham 1779
George Woof (1728-1791) and Mary Stevenson (1732-bef1760) m Crosthwaite 1753
William Woof (abt1699-1763) and Deborah (abt 1702-1752) m. abt 1725.

There are many children and multiple remarriages at all levels of the Tree.  I’d be more than happy to give you the complete descent as I have it but I doubt this site would appreciate a complete posting. I can be contacted on

I'd be very grateful for the folio reference for 1841. The particular family would be;

George 45
Mary 40
George 15
Robert 13
Sarah 10
John 8
Mary 5
Richard 3m

Many thanks,
