Hello Carol,

Yes Bob's suggestion makes perfect sense.  I thought I was doing something stupid and I was right.  Basically the email address I wanted to use was already being used by my husband!!!!  Unfortunately, he didn't remember he'd registered under that email address.  Pretty embarrassing really but there you go.

Thanks for everyone who contributed.

Regards
Lin

Hello Trystan ... sorry about the i before :-[

After more calls with our service provider and several operators, we seem to have got the notification problem sorted tonight. I went through resetting and checking everything here again, then I was talked through a few procedures with them.  Eventually went with a new address on the same account and when the notification didn't come through after registering the new email here ( tried 4 times in quick succession  :-X ) found that the new messages had indeed gone to internet spam and not sent to computer at all. The last operator was easier to understand and understood the problem better, while I had him on the line I did a couple of PM tests with KHP, so now know it's working well at the moment.

Thanks ... and sorry for hijacking the thread Lin ...  :) mare
