The Oxford Registration District comprises around a dozen individual parishes.  Your best bet would be to order the marriage certificate as this will give you the information you require.

Thanks Phil, the marriage is not showing on the IGI,although it would probably be a little late to be included? The object of the exercise for me is proving somehow that the Margaret Ada is a relative of mine born in Brymbo Denbighshire in c 1862.Whilst the obvious answer is to buy the Cert, you have to draw the line somewhere or bankruptcy will loom!

Have you seen the 1891 census entry for a John and Margaret A. YEATES who are living in Garsington, Oxfordshire?  This Margaret was born c1862 in "Denbigh. South Sea" (husband and all children born in Garsington).

It looks as if it could be a second marriage for Margaret, as there's a 16 year age gap between her and her husband.  There are also quite a few older children (from John's previous marrriage?) living with them, plus three younger children who seem to be John and Margaret's.

Thanks Pennie, whilst I'd seen it was a second marriage for John, what really makes you think it was a second marriage for Margaret A?

Hi William ...

Sorry, my mistake - should have said "second marriage for John"!
