Louise Paul or Paull 1880 - 1967
« on: Wednesday 30 March 05 10:10 BST (UK) »
I am looking for the birth and family of Louise Paull or Paul thought to be born around 1880 - 1900 in the Somerset area, she died in 1967 as Louise Lawrence in Martock or Crewkerne Somerset.

Any information large or small, or any messages from living relatives would be great.

Cheers Lisa

I think that you will have to be a little more precise in those dates.
The GRO  index should give an age-at-death, which would be helpful.

In the meantime, there is already one possible in 1881.

Hi, I have searched GRO indexes from Mar 1967 to Mar 1968 and only found this one likely contender

Mar 1967 Yeovil 7c 466 Louisa Lawrence age 74 (Martock comes under Yeovil)

The 1901 census offers the following possibilities

Name Age in 1901 Birthplace Relationship Civil Parish County/Island .

Emma Louisa Paul 8  Loders, Wiltshire, England Daughter  Netherbury  Dorset
Louisa Paul 9  Not Stated Boarder  Matching  Essex
Louisa Paul 8  Queensland, Ross Island Daughter  Crewkerne  Somerset
Louisa Paule 8  Bromley, Essex, England Daughter  Bromley  London
Louisa Paull 8  Illogan, Cornwall, England Niece  Illogan  Cornwall

Do any of those look likely? Regards, Heather

Mar 1967 Yeovil 7c 466 Louisa Lawrence age 74 (Martock comes under Yeovil) this must definately be her as her grandchildren and gt grandchildren still live in Yeovil.

I think maybe

Louisa Paul 8  Queensland, Ross Island Daughter  Crewkerne  Somerset

or

Louisa Paull 8  Illogan, Cornwall, England Niece  Illogan  Cornwall

are possilbilities but where is Queensland?

Kind regards Lisa

According to Google, Ross Island Queensland is in Australia ....interesting! Yes, I thought those two also.

Give me a minute and I'll dig out the census details. Then you could really do with finding Louisa's marriage to establish the father's name?l

The first one has a very strange thing in.

My gt grandfather was Frederick Paul from devon area born around 1887.

This is the reason i am looking for louisa as she is the gt grandmother of my best friend.

Seems it could be a very small world after all.

Apologies on that last one. The "in law" is written underneath mother on the next line and I think it could mean that Emma is his stepmother and that Milinda and Catherine are his sisters.
