Upton Family Parsonstown Kings County

I am trying to trace the marriage details of my ancestor Richard Upton to Johanna Reardon in Parsonstown, Kings County probably between 1820 and 1840.  Richard Upton was Head Gardener at Birr Castle for the Earl of Rosse.  My Great Grandfather, Joshua Upton was born in 1841 and I would also like to find out details of his birth.  He emigrated to Australia and was listed as Church of Ireland at the time of his marriage over here.

I would appreciate any details of the Upton family if anyone has any.

Hi, did they also have a son called Richard in 1834?
I found a death record for a Richard 1896 aged 62 Parsonstown (Birr) born about 1834
Another death Richard, 1874 aged 26 born about 1848. this was in Roscrea Tipperary which is up the road from Birr.

Had another look in another site.
Did Joshua have 3 sisters?
Jane, Hannah and Margaret.
I saw a returns of deposits in 1877 and 1878 when the actual return of fees was logged.
I can find these births only in Limerick and Cork.
Maybe they moved to Birr.
let me know about the sisters and the brother Richard.

This is a possibly a sister - Sarah born April 21st 1864 - LINK see row two #67
parents Richard UPTON and Johanna REARDON of Cloughill
It would imply that 1820 is too early for births to the same couple


There is also a birth in 1879 of an Anne UPTON in Parsonstown - mother Margaret UPTON and informant on civil birth record is Johanna UPTON - LINK

There is a death for a Richard UPTON in Parsonstown July 28 1896 aged 62; informant his widow Johanna - LINK #132
This would imply that he was born in 1834 which could be an incorrect age
He may not be the father of Joshua if you are correct with an 1841 date of birth

Johanna UPTON died in Parsonston on Feb 5th 1897 aged 76 - LINK #203
Being aged 76 implies she was born in 1821
The informant was her granddaughter Hannah Walker

Hannah could have been the daughter of a married daughter to be named WALKER or married herself and therefore born an UPTON or any other surname unfortunately.
