Darroch + Broadley
« on: Tuesday 06 July 10 18:02 BST (UK) »
Looking for information on Thomas Darroch (could be similar spelling such as darragh or darrock) and Susan Broadley.
Could anyone find out more details about them? I don't know much except they had a child called Patrick in 1846 in Ireland.

Thanks.

UPDATE

Susan Broadley died before 1880 but Thomas was still alive at this time and was a coalmill labourer

Hello

As I'm sure you're aware the IGI doesn't bring up this couple either marrying or having children in Ireland or Scotland

Scotlands People has only 1 death for a Patrick Darroch who is born in 1846

 M 34 BLYTHSWOOD GLASGOW CITY/LANARK 644/07 0070

If this Patrick was married it'd hopefully give the status of his parents - do you have any further info on your couple?

No indication on SP for death of a Susan Darroch other name Broadley.  Did a search for Susan Darroch death 1855 to 2006 - none came up that looked like yours.

Regards,   Steve

Do you have Rose Ann Darroch's 1881 census entry? From that, if you check any of the children's birth certs who show as born in Glasgow, this would give you parents' marriage date and place. Both Patrick and Rose Ann show as born in Ireland in their 1871 census entry so maybe marriage was there?

From your other post www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,459434.0.html you had a date of 1864 for their marriage. Was this from one of their children's birth certs?

That's great, you have it  :)

You said earlier you didn't have their cert: He married Rose Ann Mcdade but i am unable to find their marriage certificate

Likely Patrick came over to Scotland from Ireland without parents.
