Completed Marriage Reference no?

Do I need Marriage Reference/Registration no to order a marriage in Ireland?

I have on the birth registration in Scotland for Sarah Dorans (O'Dorne) that Samuel Dorans and Jane Ralph were married on 9 Feb 1858 at Newtownards, County Down, Ireland.

Another tree on Rootsweb has that they were married on 9 DEC 1858 in Newtonards, Ireland
They also include witness to the marriage.

I have tried to contact the tree owner with no answer as of yet.

    To order a certificate see www.groni.gov.uk  If the marriage was Roman Catholic there will be no certificate as civil registration for Catholic marriages in Ireland only began in 1864.
You seem to have two different names and two dates. I have tried to locate your marriage without success. The nearest I could find was Samuel DUGAN to Jane Ralph in Gilnahirk Presbyterian Church,Knockbreda, Belfast on 5 Sept 1857. Gilnahirk is about 7 miles west of Newtownards.

      There are at least seven places called DOWNS throughout Ireland.

I now have a copy of the Church Marriage Record for Samuel DORAN and Jane RALPH 09-Feb-1858 at NEWTOWNARDS Roman Catholic supplied by a relative who obtained it from www.rootsireland.ie
