I have 1871 census showing Edward & Jane Jenkins living at or near The Globe, Moriah Lane, Risca (Pontymister?), but I cannot find them in 1861.
'71 census: RG10/5350/154/p25
Edward b. 1814 Risca, Jane b. 1825 Cardiff.
Please can one of you super sleuths track them for me?
Rob

hencarrai,
1861 - unsuccessful
1851 HO107 2453 163 53

Edward Jenkins, Son, 24, Carpenter and Joiner, b. Machen

Address - New Inn, Pleasant Fields, Risca. At home with family (Dad's a beer House Keeper).

Possibility? Not sure if it's specifically 1861 you're lacking/chasing?

Do you know when and where Edward and Jane married?.

regards

Hi hanes teulu,
yes 1851 is correct record. Wonder where they were in 1861?
I have two options for marriage, there are probably others.
1. 1855 Q1 Newport p195, Jane Evans
2. 1857 Q1 Newport p243, Jane Williams
Haven't decided which to go for first. No sign of any inlaws in later censusses, and I think Jane died 1873.
Thanks once again for your help,
Rob
