Hi Ed,

Nothing instantly showing up for your Henry James Tindall on Census records.  However, there are a number of entries on passenger lists for Henry Tindall birth date ranging 1868-1872 and quite a number of those seem to have the person travelling on the Ophir betweeen Australia and London - he seems to be part of the crew - 2nd Baker.  ???

Thanks dettori28

I had a look at the pilot site but nothing seemed to match. If the baker is mine then that would ex[plain why he seemed not to be around at census time. The only concern I have is going from working with horses to baking on a boat. That is quite a change.

This may be the gentleman:
Declaration of Intention, October 1910
James Henry Tindall, born June 13, 1870, County of York, England (Thash? Arch?).  He emigrated to the U.S. from Southampton on the Majestic on/about 25 October 1907.

There is further information about this man, if you are interested.

Sorry, have I lost the plot, Ed. This James Henry Tindall was born In YORK not Stepney. London.
He is the son of William and Hannah of Thorp Arch, Yorkshire, England. Are we looking for a different person now ?
