Hi everyone - this is my first posting so please bear with me ... hoping to gather more information about a family by the name of morgan(s) living at cefnmelgoed, a farm in ceredigion (cardiganshire as was) 1840-1899. There are also links to several other farms, pantralled and ffos-las to name a couple. I'd be grateful for any leads. Many thanks
morgan(s) - pantralled, ffoslas, rhiwgoch, cefn melgoed
jones - rhostie llanilar
evans - eglwysfach
farrell - manchester, kilkenny
mclaren, manchester, glasgow

Hugely indebted to you for posting the link. So much information ... I've been able to fill in lots of gaps that I had with regard to dates.  My great great grandmother was Margretta Morgan of Pantralled so you will understand how how much I value your input. Many many thanks for your help . Diolch yn fawr iawn.

Once I've filled in the gaps using the new info I'll have a clearer idea of where to go next. Certainly got plenty to go on for now. Thanks again Morganllan

Hi

Just a short message to let you know that I had found a mention of Ffos Las through some of the census, but it looks as though morganllan has come up trumps.

Good Luck with your research.

All the best :)

Z

Hi

Apologies for the delay, here is the information for Ffos Las I have found in the census:-

1861 Census Piece 4178 Folio 67 Pg 7- Civil Parish Llandygwydd - County Cardiganshire
Living at Ffos Las
Evan Evans Head b1801 Blaenporth Farmer of 2.9 or 29 acres
Margaret Evans Wife b1811 Blaenporth
Evan Evans Son b1840 Llangranog
Anne Evans Daughter b1833 Bettws Evan
1871 Census Piece 5542 Folio 99 Pg 9 - Living at same address
Evan Evans Head b1801 Blaenporth Farmer
Margaret Evans Wife b1811 Bettws Evan
David Evans Son b1846 Llangranog
I couldn't find anything prior to the 1861 census but did come across a couple of mentions for Ffos Las in later census, but not in the same Civil Parish.
All the very best
Z :)
