Birch and Weatherlys
« on: Saturday 17 July 10 11:46 BST (UK) »
Hello,

Trying to track down any information on the Birch sisters (Dorothy, Nora and Hilda) who were born in Enniskerry around 1927-1930.

We have managed to trace backwards to 2 branches of Weatherlys and Birches from Liverpool (William Howard Birch 1902, Minnie Thane Weatherly 1893 and John Weatherly Birch 1894)

Any info would be great!
Thanks

Welcome to Rootschat. It sounds as though you are looking for information or descendants of these sisters but details of living, or possibly living, people are not allowed to be posted here so please keep that in mind.

Added- think you might have gotten the names mixed up? there is a birth in Rathdrum district, Co. Wicklow for a person with 2 of the names you've listed and another birth with mother's maiden name Weatherly who you've not listed.
After you've made another post I will send you a personal message with more details.

Hi,

I didn't know that about details of living people - but that's okay. We're just trying to figure out some of the puzzles backwards as well.

Earliest we know is Robert J Weatherly who we think was born in Liverpool, had a daughter Minnie Weatherly (1893). Minnie married William Howard Birch (b. 1902) who was about 10yrs younger (scandal!) and they had Dorothy Nora, Margery and Hilda B.

William Howard's Mum was also a Weatherly so we're wondering whether the 2 weatherly sides were connected - or whether it was a coincidence....

William had siblings Elvira Elizabeth (1905) Harry Halliday (1911) and John "weatherly" Birch (1894) and John had a daughter (also called Elvira - 1929)

And that's pretty much where we've got to.... Can't find any info on Dorothy, Margery or Hilda but doubt they are still alive.

Thanks

Here's William Howard Birch in 1911 census with his parents and 2 siblings (1 seems to be away from home)-

To see if there was a connection between the 2 Weatherly's you'll probably need to get some certificates. Elizabeth Jane's marriage to John Birch should list her father's name and English census records might also help you find, or disprove, connections.
