Woolgar, Eliza

Struggling here to find Eliza Woolgar, who married William Winter 12 Dec. 1847 at St. Nicholas, Brighton, Sx; in 1891.  What I need to find out is who her parents were.  William Winter was from Seaford and that is where they lived and had 6 children.  Eliza and William are my GG grandparents.  I don't know where Eliza was born either.  William born 1829.

Children were:  Alfred, Jane, Matilda, John, Harry, Elizabeth and Charles.

Hi Janine

Struggling to understand your message.

12th Dec 1847 - marriage date or birth date?
1891 - what does that refer to?

Can you please re-write it / explain it a bit better - I am only a country boy, find it hard to read joined up writing

I have met many WOOLGARS through the Woolgar site ... and have  been told that Caroline Champion was in fact Caroline CHAPMAN and her name is incorrect on LDS site.

I wonder if there's any way to track this down ... they were married in 1819, St.Leonard's (Seaford) Sussex.  I'm going to see if I can find any CHAPMANs in the LDS site.  Her parents were WILLIAM CHAMPION (CHAPMAN?) and LUCY BARTHOLAMEW

St.Leonard's records are fantastic, very old church and it appears my WINTER family attended there for several hundred years.

Janine, I'm interested in WOOLGAR.  My step-grandfather was Charles Curtis Woolgar.  His COSEF papers give his birthplace as Etchingham; I show a DOB of about June 1882.

Would be interested in learning more about Grandpa Woolgar.  He was part of our family for about 20 years.  He married my grandmother in 1944 in Toronto, CAN.  He died about 1963 in Royal Oak, MI.  His first wife was Florence.  Don't know if or how many children they had, but there was a Stanley Woolgar.  There was also a Dorothy Woolgar, but don't know if she was a daughter or daughter-in-law.   Would love to hear from you. Janine,  have you looked at any of the info I received on Charles Curtis WOOLGAR?  Chris and Nicky provided it.  I remembered you listed a child named Charles.  The father of my Charles Curtis Woolgar was also named Charles.

Chris is going to help me with the 1851 and 1841 census.  If  I see something that looks like it could be your WOOLGAR, I'll let you know.   RedFox

Again my apologies for being MIA for literally MONTHS!  For more info on WOOLGAR, try www.one-name.org for Woolgar, it is full of information, I am on their emailing list now.  GIve it a try!  Would be wonderful if all surnames had this many dedicated searchers.
