Estate Records
« on: Thursday 22 July 10 13:29 BST (UK) »
Hi there

My GG Grandfather James McKinna (McKenna) along with his wife and six of his nine childrencame over from Gatehouse of Fleet in Kirkcudbrightshire to work as a Wood Forester on the Earl of Antrim's estate in Glenarm sometime between 1896 amd 1901 and then left again before 1911.  Would I be able to find out the dates from the estate records in PRONI or would I need to look elsewhere?

Thanks

Catherine

Thanks for this Bob, I had already located them on the 1901 Irish census I am trying to see if I can find out when they came over to Glenarm and when they went back to Gatehouse again.

As far as I know the Earl of Antrim still has a family home in Glenarm. Have you considered contacting the Estate Office to see what records may exist and where they are kept?
