Two Hannah Reeds
« on: Friday 23 July 10 21:12 BST (UK) »
Hi

I am wondering if anyone out there can help me solve a riddle of two Hannah Reeds

My Hannah according to census was born between 1810 and 1812, she married George Hardy in 1832.
I found on the IGI a Hannah Reed bap 27 Jul 1812, parents Robert and Hannah ( t his ties in as Hannahs 1st son is named Robert)
Unfortunately for me there is also another Hannah Reid bap 5 May 1811 at Cliff Lane Prestbyterian in Whitby who's parents were also called Robert and Hannah......

Now the confusing bit,
there are definately two separate Hannahs, the other Hannah marries Jonathon Gray in 1835 and they also name their first son Robert.

I can only find one marriage in Whitby in 1801 of a Robert Reed to a Hannah Kirkman
In the 1841/51 and 61 census they seem to be living next door to the Grays

There are other Reed children bap at different churches in Whitby with Robert and Hannah as parents but no idea how to unravel them! Would be grateful for any suggestions?
What do people think of there being two daughters named Hannah as i know this isn't unheard of??

Sorry for  the garbled post but i'm having trouble thinking straight!
Thanks Andrea

Wow
Thank you so much for this!!

Will need some time to digest all this.

Wonder if the Robert Reed marrying Rachel is my Hannahs father

Thanks again
