Hedd Wyn
« on: Sunday 25 July 10 11:44 BST (UK) »
My family came from Trawsfynydd and are related to Hedd Wyn.  My Great Grandmother married and moved to South Wales where Ellis would often visit.  Does anyone have any information regarding the fight in the mountains which took place resulting to a murder/manslaughter?
This would have been late 1800's.

Hi Dibb36 and welcome to RootsChat

As we're not all as knowledgable as you about Welsh history (  :D ) I've done a bit of googling and found the following

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hedd_Wyn

www.bbc.co.uk/wales/northwest/halloffame/arts/heddwyn.shtml

www.rwfmuseum.org.uk/nb_heddwyn.html

As Hedd Wyn aka Ellis Humphrey Evans lived 1887-1917 I don't uderstand your question about the fight.  Was he involved?  More detail would help - however small

Thanks for your reply
But I am looking for people who already know about this incident which is why I have not declared too much information.
As I am sure you are aware there are many claiming to be related to Hedd Wyn.
A blood line relative would know this information already.
regards,

This is a bit cryptic! Are you saying that you only wish blood line people to respond?

I know little about Hedd Wyn but am currently researching the Welsh Division at Passchendaele so - if I get it published - he's bound to get a mention! There seems to be little in the way of biography on him in English, but several in Welsh.
