Calverton, Nottinghamshire
« on: Thursday 29 July 10 23:33 BST (UK) »
I am jsut wondering if anyone can tell me what would be the possible county/districts for registration of an approx 1841 birth in the village of Calverton?

I am limited knowledge and would like to narrow down the possibilties before ordering any birth certificates.   :D

Thanks
Nicole

Hi Nicole,

According to Genuki, Calverton was in the Arnold Sub District of Basford Registration District.

Hi Nicole, just a thought, but they might be on the 1841 census if born late enough in the year. It may help your search.
What is the name as well, as I have a few records of Calverton?

Skewy.

Hi Skewy

I'm looking for a William Morley born c1840/41 in Calverton and I believe I have found him on the  1841 census with a listed age of 1.  I'm not sure how accurate the ages are for these census ??? ...I'm still very new to this!

From William Morley's death certificate here in Australia his father is listed as Samuel (a Frames Smith) but no mother.  I found the 1841 census for him (I suspect) and would like to get the certificate to confirm it is him.  Any help/suggestions are really appreciated from novice genealogist.  :D

Hi Nicole, I have found the 1841 census you mention. However you may have missread it as the head of the household is William aged 60, with others in the house being Samuel and Hannah (possible parents) and Mary aged 4 (possible sister)
I can go to the library next week and have a look at the parish records for marriage of Samuel and Hannah and birth of William
