James Samuel Winter is my Gt uncle....he married my Gt grandmothers sister....Ann Jones....what relationship is your wife?

Hi David,
James S Winter is my wife's great great grandfather, through her mothers side of the family. Family search has him born in Antigua 1843 to John Winter (but I don't have any verification for John). All the male winters I have traced- and some female- were mariners, including James S, and I am hoping to discover if his family were from the caribbean or if they were mariners too -St'Johns was a big naval centre at the time. Could you let me have your wifes TREE back to James Samuel?
Also how do you know about John Winter being father to James?

I have the Marriage Register Book copy of their marriage...do you have a copy?

We have a public family tree on Ancestry- "Meade Family Tree". The verified line is James Samuel, Alfred 1880-1946 then George 1912-1980. The only documentation I have is UK census returns and I don't have any marriage or birth documentation. Anything you can give me would be appreciated.
I have John as James' father from a familysearch IGI reference and I am waiting for the LDS film to arrive to establish the source document, if possible. Regards,Ian
