Hello Jim,

I have tried to send a couple of personal messages on this site, but am not sure that you have received them.

I was in Wales at the beginning of the month; and visted sites from my mother's youth, including her birthplace and two other locations that she lived until she was 12. Her mother Edith May (Manley) died aged 26 at 4 Ferndale Road, Tylorstown, Rhondda in 1926. She left four children, my mother, Edwin (known as Thomas), George and Robert. My mother was the oldest, and aged 12 when her mother died.

None of these houses remain. We also found and visted my grandmothers grave site at Ferndale.  There was another girl, Lily May who died as an infant and she is buried with my grandmother.

My grandfather (who I never knew) moved to the Kent coal fields and died in Kent about 1970.

I can provide you and your relatives on my mother's background as I know it, and her life from 1945.

Tom

Hi Tom

This is all happening a little fast. I do not want to mention this to my Mother yet until I am 100% sure that there is a connection.

I will email with more information or send personal message to keep personal details of the public forum.

Regards
Jim
