Pan Lite maker

On the 1861 census my gt gt grandfather is a  'Pan Lite maker' as he is living at a brickyard am I right in thinking it is some sort of brick or tile?

Could it be a somewhat dyslexic version of "pan tile"?
Godden in East Sussex, mainly Hastings area.
Richards in Lea, Gloucestershire, then London.
Williamson in Leith, Vickers in Nottingham.
Webb in Bildeston and Colchester.
Wesbroom in Kirby le Soken.
Ellington in Harwich.
Park, Palmer, Segar and Peartree in Kersey.

quite possibly, he did a different job on each census but it was always at a brickyard , just a different one on each census.

Panlite is a trade name for a moulding resin, I reckon Pan Tile is the best bet as stated by previous messages.
