hit a brick wall can anyone help?

Hello there,

Was recommended this forum from KHF and told it is a very good site. I have traced back my family tree to john tonkin, born 1733 in rochester, kent. On the baptism record his parents are listed as john and mary tonkin. However, I can't seem to find any information on them to enable me to continue backwards. Can anyone help please?

been on there, can't find any more information, maybe they moved to the area from somewhere else

There aren't many early TONKINs around in Kent

Samuel TONKEN married Mary BROWN at St Margaret's, Rochester in 1731..
