Marriage lookups 1778 and 1710
« on: Sunday 08 August 10 18:38 BST (UK) »
Hi, was wondering if anyone could check the following marriages to see if the fathers are listed as am trying to work backwards and can't identify who the parents might be so can't find baptisms etc.

Prudence Attwood married John Dunn 18 Jan 1778 in Barnwood

Elizabeth Boon married Anselym Bailey (or Baylay) at North Nibley on 18 Apr 1710.  He was from Wheatenhurst and she was from Frampton on Severn.

Anything anyone can tell me about these people or their ancestors would be most welcome.

Regards, MyGenes

Hi.

Still need help re the following.
John Dunn is shown a being
The baptism for John in 1751 shows parents as William and Ann, but the Dunn is spelt Done.

Prudence Attwood also of Barnwood.

Gary.

Hi
William and Ann Done's children at Barnwood
Ann 5.2.1733
Susannah 21.12.1735
Priscilla 4.2.1738
Samuel 7.6.1741
Samuel 3.4.1743
William 1.12.1745
Charles 4.1.1747
John 15.4.1750
Thomas 11.12.1752

possible burial for William Dunn 24.11.1769,or 5 Sep 1794 and 12.2.1797

And that's as far as I can see.
There don't seem to be any Attawoods at all.
It's bloody awkward

Hi.

Thanks very much for that. My wife loves Cider-goes for the Tasmanian ones. Will push on with little hope.

Cheers,

Gary.

This one is dated : 13 December 1765 (BOND)

Henry DUNN - Groom Rank/Profession: PARGITOR

Groom residence: St Mary de Cript in the City of Gloucester

Elizabeth WYNNE, Spinster - residence: Hamlet of Wooton near the City of Gloucester

-----

Henry DUNN aged 40 (Widower) and a Pargiter of St Mary De Crypt in the City of Gloucester
marries Sarah JENNINGS = aged 25 Spinster  (residence: Wootton near the City of Gloucester - 10 June 1772.

and Henry DUNN (Pargiter)- marries yet again (if it's the same person - 20 November 1775 - to a Mary MARTIN - and Mary again was from the Hamlet of Wootton) - but they marry at BARNWOOD.

(Needs some work!)

Witness 1: Isaac GILES a Cordwainter of St Mary de Cript in the City of Gloucester

The groom and Isaac Giles are bound in the sum of £500 to marry at St Mary de cript.

----

Looking at the DUNN's listed as living in BARNWOOD - (Bonds/Licences)

9 December 1767

Samuel DUNN - a Yeoman residence: BARNWOOD
Mary ROWLES - (Widow) residence: Haresfield

by Bond: He signs.
Witness 1: HENRY DUNN, a PARGITER OF THE CITY OF GLOUCESTER

--

The marriage allegation of Samuel DUNN : 9 December 1767
Gives Samuel's age as 25 and he is a Batchelor.  They marry at BARNWOOD.

(So we have, Henry +  John + Samuel)
