i am tryig to work out the parents of Cuthbert Beadnall born abt 1796 in Yorkshire, he married Jane Watts b 1800 in Paisley, Scotland.

According to the IGI (www.familysearch.org) his parents were Thomas & Elizabeth Beadnell and he was christened 10 March 1795 in Kirkleatham, Yorkshire

do you think that it that is the correct Cuthbert Beadnall.  i hope it is, unfortinatly he died in 1843 i think and making him only in the 1841 census it dosen't really help in where he was born only that he was born in Yorkshire.

I think it's a pretty safe bet, but can't be at all certain.  Did he call any of his children Thomas or Elizabeth?  There's another christening of a Cuthbert Beadnall on the IGI - parents Thomas & Elizabeth - on 29 Dec 1801 in Brotton, Yorkshire (just to confuse the issue!)

I can't see him in 1841.  Was he anywhere near Kirkleatham or Brotton?  (they're about 8 miles apart).  Do you know where he married Jane, and/or where his children were born?

Found it - Marske in Cleveland.  That doesn't help as it's about 5 miles from both Kirkleatham and Brotton.

well that sounds about right for the beadnall family, if it is not missing people  or people with the same 1st namesit is mis-spelt names.  :)
