21st Reserve Regiment - who were they?
« on: Monday 09 August 10 19:31 BST (UK) »
Can anyone help?
I have a birth certificate with someone whon was a Battery Q.M.S.(Quarter Master Sergeant?) in the 21st Reserve Regiment, and was living at 132 Eastcombe Avenue, Charlton in 1918.
Can you point me to where I might find some info on this regiment, what they did, where they fought in WW1, and what this property was that he was living in?
thanks
Zoe

I'm going to guess that as he was a battery qms then he was in the artillery!

yes, based at the Royal Horse Artillery at Woolwich before WW1, but cannot find anything about where this regiment was during WW1.

The RHA reserve at Woolwich was X Brigade (X meaning 10).

If he was at Woolwich prior to the war, and still in Charlton in 1918, I suspect this was his unit.

Some info here
