in 1830 Glanville and Bates Attorneys Silver Street
in 1844 Glanville Thomas  Nobility/Gentry/Clergyman

also check the Whites directory on this link :)

Hi Leandra,
Thank you very much for the info. on Thomas Glanvill. Yes,this is my ancestor and I was pretty sure that he had remarried. I'm trying to connect my ancestor to Judge John Glanvill, from Tavistock. He was a Justiciary who had a son named Thomas Glanvill whom I believe my Thomas Glanvill is connected to due to an old letter which was written to relative of ours. Wm.Richard-Glanvill was an historian from England who wrote about the Glanvilles. Jay Glanville has an excellent website about our Glanvilles.

Yes,he had a wife named Tryphanea. He had two children named Samuel and Sarah. There was a John Glanvill who is buried at the Ottery St.Mary Parish which says he was an Attorney.Wondering if Thomas's father was John which contradicts info. I have from a copy of an old letter written by Wm. Richard Glanville who wrote about the Glanvilles.

Hi again,

You have an interesting family, a connection  to Judge John Glanville would make it even more so if this is him

http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=jafo842&id=I37789

Evidently his ghost can still be 'seen' perhaps you could go and ask him the connection ;)

Have you looked through family search IGI, maybe you will find a connection, there are alot of Glanvilles going back to 1100!

Hi Leandra,

I don't know how to access this site which you have mentioned. My daughter and I had visited Tavistock. There is a beautiful monument of him in the old Parish. Also we visited his house which still stands. It is owned by an organization which takes care of special needs children(?). The workers told me that the house is definitely haunted. I don't want to hire a genealogist, can be pricey. Hoping I can make this connection somehow online. There isn't much info. about Judge John Glanville's son Thomas..I think this is the connection if only I can obtain more info. about his son.
