With info given on Jezza Clarkson's WDYTYA you go further into his family on Ancestry and find out that his paternal grandfather Robert Ward's paternal gran Mary Ann Mack (mother of William James Ward, Robert's father, born in Leeds in 1867) was indeed from a county that Jeremy has criticised a lot, Norfolk.

...you spend New Year's Eve sorting out grave photos & transcribing headstones for upload to findagrave, I found it quite relaxing ;D  & you are quite happy to walk around a cemetery on Christmas Day & Boxing day.
Admittedly this wasn't planned, a friend was taken into hospital Christmas Eve morning, & I've been helping to care for her dogs since then, including walking one of them every morning. She loves the cemetery with its squirrels & rabbits, & I was glad of the excuse to wander round, so we were both happy.
Dog walking, gravestones to read, weather dry, sunny & cold, what's not to love ;D

When you spend hours trawling IGI with middle names trying to link them to surnames to find parents who are not known on death certs.

Finding 'possible' matches for the surnames but none of the forenames match the grandchildrens names  ::)

Or when you eagerly await the end of the dragged out holiday period so Ancestry staff can get back to work and put more records online.

... someone asks you for directions to a house in the area and you can reel off previous occupations from census records but not the name of the people who actually live there now!

I thought that's was just being Irish!
It aggravates my OH no end that we live in "Sweeneys' house" needless to say we are not the Sweeneys!
Half of Dublin is known by who lived where rather than the street names and familiarity now has assigned those names to places e.g. Leonard's Corner, Doyle's Corner, etc.
