COMPLETED. Advice on death of correct Elizabeth Lewis please.

Hi everyone,

Could anyone give me advice on tracing the correct death of my great grandmother an Elizabeth Lewis please. I have traced her on the 1911 census living at 36 Abercynon Road, Abercynon at the age of 49. I have searched FreeBMD which gives me four possible deaths one in 1917, another in 1926 and another two in 1928 all just about, would be the correct age added to her age on the 1911 census, therefore is there anyway I can tell the correct one without applying for a death certificate.

To try and narrow things down have found this info-
Burial Glyntaff Pontypridd  Elizabeth Lewis year 1928 plot no.N.0147 burial ref 20191
In the same grave buried Robert Lewis year 1924.
Looked up BMD  there are two Robert lewis's
Robert Lewis aged 65   vol11a page 533
..            ..      aged 71  vol   11a page 570 both pontypridd district
Do you have  a connection to either of these Robert's and and the Elizabeth buried with him  is your great grandmother?
 Other suggestion have you checked your grandmothers ages in all the census's because ages can change from one census to the next.

Many thanks for your input, for a minute I really thought you had found her. Info I forgot to submit was her husbands name was Richard Lewis when she was married for the second time in 1896, he had died sometime between 1901 and 1911 as the 1911 census shows her as being a widow, but he was not my Great Grandfather.
His name was Thomas Winter who was killed in the 1894 Albion Pit Disaster and he was buried in the Glyntaf Cemetery and for a moment I thought she might have been buried with him, but alas no, so back to the drawing board.

Thank you for your time, it is possible the first one might be, if the Lewis is his surname as I have no other reference to any other names for him would your records show whether an Elizabeth is buried with him.

Just found something odd- I can see a Thomas Winter buried glyntaff as you said 1894 grave plot- B.0382 ref 3491
but there is also a  Thomas Winterburied plot no B.0383 ref-6123 year 1900
also buried in that grave is Elizabeth Lewis plot B.0383 ref 19458 year 1925
Are you sure your thomas died in 1894?

Hi Cardiff,

That is strange, my Great Grandfather Thomas Winter was the one who died in 1894, as stated he was one of the 194 who was killed in the Cilfynydd mining disaster and was believed to be buried with his brother George whom was killed at the same time, but what is really wierd is that if you have found the correct Elizabeth that she is buried in the grave next to him?

Dec 1900 district pontypridd aged 10yrs old 11a 270
 could this be her son she is buried next to her hussband and with her son?

Many thanks, I believe you are a genius I think this has great possibilities just checked the 1891 census and she did have a son then of 1 year old, but cannot quite work out the christian name looks a bit like Thom and he doesn't show on the 1901 census so I will check and double check this possibility.
