Sorry about the last post.

Shanew147: I'm having trouble finding his death record and marriage record in the U.S.

Obbie: I feel uneasy about his brother Patrick.  I'm positive that he was a coachman in 1920 and 1930.  And on the manifest where it lists Patrick as his brother, it says he's not a coachman but a laborer.  And that second attempt was only two weeks after the first attempt with Kate and Nora. So how can he change his occupation in 2 weeks.

Both: I will continue to look for marriage records for John and Catherine. They got married in 1908/09/10.

Thats what I was thinking but I wasn't sure.  I'm trying to find a death and/or marriage certificate to find father's and mother's name. But I'm having trouble finding it.

I have just found a WW2 draft card for John Scanlon. The address given 922 (instead of 920) Ninth Avenue, Manhattan, New York.  DOB is April 1, 1880.  Birthplace Limerick, Ireland.  Person who will always know you is listed as Francis Scanlon (same address) and she is my aunt. So there is an extremely high chance this is him. The only things that I am suspicious about are DOB and Place of Birth.  Oh, and his occupation is listed as Terminal SS Co., Java Street, Brooklyn, New York.

What do you think?

hi again a tangled web .

you need to get births for new york , one will do , to get mothers full name
john 1911
francis 1913
vincent 1915
arthur 1917

from this search for john and catherines marriage circa 1911 probaly new york as first child born there soon afterwards .

this will give johns fathers name and possible address

this will let you search for johns birth in limerick and possible passenger record i note in one census he says 1904 other 1903

Yes those are his children. I descend from John, but he was born February 12, 1909 Manhattan, New York and he died June 1981 Staten Island, New York.

I can't access marriage records for New York State.
