COMPLETED -William SEABROOK b abt 1818
« on: Sunday 15 August 10 15:21 BST (UK) »
Hi

I have been researching Ann Seabrook's (nee Kingsley's) marriage to John Archer in 1871, Tring, Herts.  Anne born abt 1836, Wilstone, Herts.

She was married beforehand to William Seabrook 22 July 1857.  I have them on the 1961 census but unable to find William on any other census before or after to find out more about him.  I believe he was born abt 1818, Tring and died 1869, but unable to clarify any of this.

Would anyone be so kind and give me a push in the right direction.  Seem to have hit a dead end.

Many thanks

Karen

Hi Karen

I'm not sure if this helps or just confuses things!

1851 -  HO107/1716/379/26

Aylesbury Rd, Tring

James Nutkins  Head  Wid  66  Ag Lab
Hannah Nutkins  Dau  U  25  Straw Plaiter
John Nutkins  Grandson  10m
William Seabrook Son-in-law  Mar  33   Maltster
Ann Seabrook  Dau  Mar  28  Straw Plaiter

all born Herts, Tring

Just to make things worse there is another William Seabrook in the censuses born abt 1816 in Tring   :D

Added - but he's still around in 1881

There's a marriage registration for

William Seabrook & Ann Nutkins   1850   Oct-Nov-Dec   Berkhampstead   Vol 6   Page  914

Berkhampstead was the registration district for Tring

Thanks danuslave for taking the time to look.

I found the Nutkins census too, wondered if william seabrook had been married before.

From your info that may be it.

I'll need to take a better look.  Looks like he married Ann Nutkins and then she died either 1852 or1857 leaving him free to marry Ann Kingsley in July 1857.

Can you see a death for William Seabrook, so Ann Seabrook the 2nd is free to marry John Archer?

Trying to get some answers to work out which William Seabrook is the right one!  Given me a massive headache  ???

Thanks for your findings it's taken me a step near - I think!

I know what you mean   :D

I think the death registration in 1869 is probably your best bet

William Seabrook   1869   Jan-Feb-Mar   Age at Death  52 (on original)
Berkhampstead   Vol  3a   Page  267

The only way you've got any chance of being sure is to get the death certificate - and even then there are no guarantees.  Good game this   :D

Thanks Linda for all your help

I think we are on the right route, as you said death cert is next.  What with the other Seabrook and him marrying 2 ann's this was driving me in circles

Many thanks again
