Great Lakes Mariner
« on: Tuesday 17 August 10 02:21 BST (UK) »
Hi,

My G-Grandfather is supposed to have worked on Lakers in his long sailing career.  Time period is sometime between 1895 and 1908, my guess is it would be in the latter part of that time period.  Not sure if he would have signed on from the Canadian or American side.  He himself was neither Canadian nor American.  Can anyone suggest how I could go about finding out anything more?  I do not have any ship names.

Thanks,

Jennifer.

There is also a site that has the Great Lakes Maritime History in depth. Has a lot of marine biographies

http://www.linkstothepast.com/marine/
