Help needed HUGHES and MORGAN
« on: Tuesday 17 August 10 15:49 BST (UK) »
Hi,
I am trying to find details of a marriage between William Hughes (born 1812 Bangor, Caernarvonshire, Wales ) and Mary Morgan (born 1808 Llanllechid, Caernarvonshire, Wales). According to the 1841 census they were living in Llandegai, Caernarvonshire, Wales. Their oldest son, Hugh Hughes was born in 1834. I would also like to find birth or christening records for both William Hughes and Mary Morgan.
Any help with this would be much appreciated.

Hi Michelle

I've looked for a marriage at Llandegai, Llanllechid, Llanddeiniolen and Bangor without success.  Is it possible that Mary was married previously?

I have a John Morgan bapt 1814 from Llandegai in my tree.  His parents Edward Morgan & Margaret died when he was very young and I'm not sure if he had any surviving siblings.

Heather

PS  I have found the burials of William & Mary Hughes at Gelli if you are interested.

Hi Heather,
Thanks for taking the time to look this up for me, and I'm certainly interested in the burials of William and Mary.
I suppose that Mary could have been married previously, it would help to explain why we can't find the marriage.
