If you look on http://www.freebmd.org.uk/ for the births of those four names, at Chester, it would appear that they all had a mothers maiden name of Steen.

If you then look for a marriage of a male Griffiths and a female Steen, prior to 1920, at Chester, you can find the pairing of Ebenezer Griffiths and Margaret Ethel Steen in the third quarter of 1919 (GRO reference 8a 1029). The marriage took place at St Paul, Chester

If you then look on http://www.freebmd.org.uk/ prior to 1903 for suitable birth registrations for those two names, there is one in 1893 and one in 1897, at Chester.

Subject to checking with appropriate certificates etc, it would seem that these two people could be the parents of Nancy, John E, Blanche and Sylvia M Griffiths.
