Occupation, Elector Deposition??

I was jsut generally going over my tree and saw one had his occupation listed as "Elector Deposition" any idea what that is?
Smith, Tolley, Griffiths,
Monaghan, Richards, Clark, Clarke,

its in the 1851 census for Arthur Edmund Haley (actually Heeley)  HO 107/2049

ive since looked on the net and it appears to be a kind of electro plating? which would fit in as his dad was a silversmith, and later did electro plating..
