Constabulary Medal; awarded 6/11/1917 for 'conspicuous devotion to duty in handling with skill, courage and determination the men under his command at a serious riot' at Listowel, Co Kerry.

Do you know anything about a Thomas Phelan, RIC constable  born in Co. Waterford, father patrick Phelan a farmer.

This is he in 1911

is there any james musgraves  mention inthat regimenthe came from waterford

Thanks for the reply and looking it up.

Thomas Phelan had a son Patrick J Phelan who was in Scotland Yard and was the personal body guard to Eamonn De Valera whenever he was in Great Britain.

I have a number of newspaper cuttings about him and De valera but I presume I could not post them here due to copyright issues.

Thomas Phelans marriage cert shows him as born in Co. Waterford with a father Patrick Phelan, a farmer.
