John Bausor/Bauser/Bansor birth?
« on: Saturday 21 August 10 10:56 BST (UK) »
Hi
I have traced my family back to a John Bausor/Bauser/Bansor (depending on the transription!!).  I have his marriage to Elizabeth Burrows on 28th Nove 1832 and a possible birth in 1813.  The 1851 census has him as Bauser and being born in Hamierd, Lincoln.  I have been unable to find this place.  I can only find him on the 1851 and 1871 census at the momet.  He tends to live in Newark.

Any help would be hugely appreciated!  A long standing family rumour was that the Bausors were from Germany but I am not sure having gone this far back with them and yet to find the German immigrant but my great grandmother had a 'European accent'.

Thanks
Selena
Perfitt (possibly Ipswich, Suffolk/Surrey)
Druce (Bucks)
Parker Bucks)
Gurney (Redbourn, Herts)
Cotton (Manchester)
Bauser/Bausor (Manchester/Salford)

I can't find him in 1851, can you supply the ref please?

However, in 1871 it quite plainly says Stamford, Lincolnshire as place of birth.

Piece 3453  Folio 57  P11.
I suppose if the transcription was by someone unfamiliar with place names Hamierd could be Stamford.   :o

NC.
